If I may do a remark : disabled people doing sports are well represented in medias, we all saw paralympics etc. Maybe too much in my opinion, now if you say "amputee", people will answer "Pistorius" or portray somebody with these running blades.
I think it's precisely outside sports that they miss some visibility.

But that's only my opinion.

That's a good point. I have plans to draw other people (who are not engaged in sports) that have disabilities like amputations and paralysis. Honestly, the running blades were just way too much of a temptation not to draw. There were several Japanese women in particular who inspired me which was another reason I wanted to draw this.  But I definitely understand what you're saying. After all, that's probably why I'm aware of the running blades. Thank you for pointing that out and I will strive to include more and more types of women in this series.

Okay so your going to get into an amputee series then, will definitely look forward to seeing the results as well.  Nice image, nice style to it.  If you want to see some unique amputee technology, accessories, go though the galleries on our page.  Quite a few photos of my lovely wife modelling some saddle crutch technology i developed here some time ago and a little one legged bike we put together for her recently as well.  LOL she's a speed demon and loves that so much she's insisting that we put it into production here so others like her can have it too.   Re: prosthetics technology do a search on Otto Bock,  their one of the major manufacturers. :)

It's not purely amputees. It's more about women that are not generally represented in modern media and art. I'll have to look into that bike, though. That sounds really neat.

Okay, sounds like it's going to be both an interesting and comprehensive project for you then.  Will look forward to seeing what you come up with.  Hehehe yeah the little bike is a kick, i find it really sexy on her too.  Thanks for the Llama as well :)
